Diverse opportunities abound for everyone ranging from leisure, sports and cultural activities to a wide range of employment opportunities.
Incorporated in 1956, the Woodstock and Ingersoll Real Estate Board is centrally located in the heart of southwestern Ontario. It is within our trading area that Ontario's main transportation routes connect three major U.S. border crossing points. These transportation corridors consist of highways 401, 403 plus the Canadian national and Canadian pacific rail lines. We are a mere 60 minutes from Toronto's Pearson and Hamilton's International airports. London and Kitchener are a short commute west or east respectively with both centers also offering international airports and well respected colleges and universities.
Explore the sandy beaches and resorts of Lake Erie only a short drive south. Approximately 30 minutes north is the festival town of Stratford. If winter sports appeal our region offers local ski hills and cross country trails and a short drive leads to more challenging terrain.
Woodstock is proud to have been chosen as home of Ontario's most recently opened Toyota automotive plant while Ingersoll has been home to the Cami automotive plant, a GM/Suzuki partnership, established for many years. Both these state of the art facilities have brought growth and prosperity to our area and its residents. Some of the most significant aggregate deposits in the province can also be found within our region.
In addition to its significant amount of industry and commerce, Oxford County and the Woodstock-Ingersoll District Real Estate board area boasts some of the best agricultural lands in the country. With its rich rolling farm land and large dairy operations this prime area is historically reknowned as the dairy capital of Canada.
Many international events & attractions are native to our area and draw large numbers of people back year after year. Such events as the acclaimed Woodstock woodshow , the Embro Highland games honoring the local Scottish ancestry, the annual farm show which continues to grow each year, award winning little theatre productions in both Woodstock & Ingersoll or perhaps you would experience a calithumpian weekend or a harvestfest. Recreation is well supported as evident by the many facilities in our region as are centres for seniors, youth and non-profit organizations and groups. Make yourself home, like so many others; you may never want to leave!
